Business Development Center
The CCEDC houses the McLennan Community College Small Business Development
Center. The SBDC assists small businesses in solving problems or taking
advantage of opportunities in all areas of business endeavors.
The SBDC provides free
counseling, seminars and workshops in key business areas, including
operations, personnel, marketing, finance, accounting and more.
Training
The SBDC offers short courses specifically designed for your small
business. Topics include “Establish a Successful Home-Based Business,”
“New Business Start-Up Orientation,” and “Intro to Government
Contracting.” The “Business Breakfast,” covering a variety of
topics, is offered quarterly and gives you the opportunity to network with
entrepreneurs.

Counseling
SBDC counselors provide free, one-on-one counseling to small business
owners or prospective start-up businesses. In your first meeting with a
counselor, a preliminary assessment will be made. The counselors work with
established and start-up businesses as well as with individuals who are
planning to go into business. This interactive counseling will train you
in management and other important techniques. All information regarding

Government
Contract Center
The Government Contract Assistance Center helps local businesses
cut through the “red tape” involved in conducting business with
government entities. Each business client receives assistance in
responding to bids issued by federal, state and local governments.
Assistance includes detailed and individualized information for each
business client. You can also view contracting opportunities with the
General Services Administration by accessing the GSA website from a
computerized counseling station in our Business Information Center. Click here
