The Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) is dedicated to the responsible economic development of the community.
To accomplish its mission, CCEDC has determined that it is critical to develop and follow a strategic direction or annual plan for the organization; to generate budgets and measurements to support its plans; and, to create and respond to opportunities. CCEDC understands that its success will be determined by its ability to be proactive or reactive at the appropriate times.
The Copperas Cove region is changing and will continue to evolve. Some of the changes-such as demographics and regulations - are evolutionary. Regardless of whatever changes the future holds, businesses will be affected and CCEDC's leadership will be continually challenged. CCEDC views economic development as a long-term investment in the
region - its people and facets. CCEDC strives to find an optimal balance between business development, quality-of-life, regional needs, and sustainable growth. In this context, planning is critical. But, even more important is citizen involvement, City Council approval, effective communication and the overall shared vision for the community.
CCEDC is structured to assure leadership, advocacy, and a broad, longer term perspective for the good of the community and region. This CCEDC Plan for Sustainable Economic Development represents the views of various Copperas Cove leaders and citizens who participated in its development. The Plan resulted from the ideas and aspirations of CCEDC’s
many stakeholders under the guidance and experience of the project development team. The glue that holds everything together is the dedication and commitment of the leadership to create and maintain a prosperous community, where people love to live and work.
