Copperas Cove EDC conducting search for Executive DirectorCopperas Cove is looking for an enthusiastic, successful and experienced professional to provide overall leadership and direction to the CCEDC Board in coordinating and implementing the economic development strategies for Copperas Cove.
The Executive Director will provide vision and leadership to implement the CCEDC Strategic Plan, and direct staff to attract, retain and expand jobs and investment in Copperas Cove. The Executive Director will play a significant leadership role within the Copperas Cove business community. The ideal candidate will successfully implement a strong business recruitment program, as well as lead stakeholders toward a common goal, and do so through a collaborative style of leadership. He/she will also have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with site selection consultants, corporate real estate executives and other third-party decision makers. A proven track record in industrial or business locations is a must, with significant experience in sales and marketing, business retention, and business intelligence activities. The ideal candidate should prove to be a self-starter with the initiative, ability and social intelligence to successfully achieve the CCEDC’s mission. He/she must work to engage stakeholders and development professionals to accelerate project completion.
Candidates must possess at a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field with advanced economic development training preferred, and prove at least 5 years of successful experience in economic development or related field. The candidate must be a graduate of the Economic Development Institute as outlined by the International Economic Development Council. A military background (army) would be beneficial but not required. Compensation package will be competitive within the region.
CCEDC has retained Johnson and Associates (http://www.jatoday.com/) to conduct the search for our new executive director. The recruitment process is expected to begin in early January 2010.
