CopperasCove-EDC.com is the official website of the Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation.
Copperas Cove, part of the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood MSA, is in one of the fastest growing markets in the state of Texas. Located just off the high-tech corridor between Dallas and Austin, it is rapidly becoming the preferred location for back office, light industries, and retail operations. Its one-hour proximity to Austin lends itself as an ideal location for expanding high-tech companies and their suppliers.
Our friendly community is nestled between five hills in Central Texas. Over the years, the citizens of Copperas Cove have retained a small town atmosphere of friendliness and neighborliness. Known as the “Gateway to the Texas Hill Country”, Copperas Cove’s countryside is dotted with beautiful native flowers and abundant wildlife.

High performance comes naturally. Known as "The City Built for Family Living", Copperas Cove, Texas is dedicated to improving the quality of life for its citizens and businesses. It's the place that raised a Heisman trophy winner and it's where your business can excel.
Despite steady growth over the past 20 years, Copperas Cove remains rural and friendly with a population of 32,000. Cost of living is less than 82% of the national average. Citizens and businesses have easy access to modern health care facilities and world class education, including Texas A&M University Central Texas, Central Texas College, and academically recognized Copperas Cove I.S.D.
Copperas Cove is located immediately adjacent to Fort Hood, a 340 square mile military installation (214,968 acres.) Fort Hood is the only post in the United States capable of stationing and training two Armored Divisions. The annual impact of Fort Hood on the Central Texas economy is more tha $7.1 billion. A large percentage of these highly trained and highly skilled soldiers that exit the military prefer to remain in our area.

Thanks to the years of dedication to the cause, hard work and adherence to a long-lasting vision and mission statement by the Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, 2011 was a great year and 2012 is set to be even greater.
In March of 2011 the Board of Directors came together at a retreat to discuss, develop, and prioritize short and long term strategies. More than twenty key issues were identified by the Board members and those key issues set the stage for formulating strategies for the future.
But before we move into 2012 let’s talk about the 2011 accomplishments of your Copperas Cove EDC.
Stoney Brook Assisted Living Center greeted its first resident in January, 2011. Stoney Brook, a recipient of incentive funds from the CCEDC, is an $8.2 Million project that will eventually employ 30 or more workers. Stoney Brook will, of course, pay property taxes based on its assessed valuation. Those collected taxes will allow the City and the County to continue to provide essential services to the community.
Constitution Court, a multifamily complex located on Constitution Drive, represents a $12 Million investment on the part of its private owner. The CCEDC sold the land to the firm that owns the beautiful complex. We also built Constitution Drive to serve, in part, the residents of the complex. This four lane road was an investment of $1.2 Million.
The CCEDC, the City and a number of other entities spent a year designing, engineering, planning and coordinating the many activities that will result in the construction of the Shops at Five Hills, a shopping center that will serve this region for many years to come.
In 2011 the CCEDC formed the RED TEAM, an advisory and sounding-board organization. This group, made up of community leaders, elected officials and members of the business community, meet as necessary in order to provide the CCEDC Board and staff with valuable insight. They offer comments from their perspective which allows us to make more informed decisions.
There was more — much more. But it is time to talk about the CCEDC’s vision and goals.
